Swivels Rock

I love finding a ‘vintage’ interior like the photograph on the left and seeing how the space still seems relevant 50 years later. Mid-century design has definitely made a big resurgence in interiors lately. If you take a look at the photograph on the right from Metropolitan Home, you can see how these design elements shine through with the low coffee table and, my favorite, the swivel chairs.

Contrasted against some more traditional pieces like the sofa, console table, and Chinese blue and white porcelain, I like the open, edgy look of the swivel chair. Whether you are in a small space or need to maintain a line of vision through a room, a set of swivel chairs may be your design answer. Since many tend to have a lower back and a smaller footprint due to their exposed leg, they can create not only more seating, but also a nice balance in a space. Check out some of my favorites below, maybe you’ll be inspired to consider something a little different in your own aesthetic!
