Books: On Acquiring & Collecting
by Emily
via Desire to Inspire
We all know it takes time to build collections – doodles, shoes, books, and bags alike – so often times it is worth making small acquisitions – often – along the way.

I love vignettes and collections that include your favorite books – hardback, paperback, and coffee table styles. I love how you can sense someone’s interests and taste based on their collection.

Because Liz and I both love to cook and decorate, it is no surprise we are drawn to collecting these types of books. Both inspiring and complete with beautiful illustrations and photographs, they are not only perfect for reference, but display.
There are two new books that I would love to add to my collections that I have to share with you:
1. Suzanne & Lauren McGrath’s Good Bones, Great Pieces
Complete with beautiful illustrations and decorating tips for both the experienced decorator and those just starting out, this book spells out the essentials – bones – for enduring home design.
2. Spoon Fork Bacon’s Tiny Food Party
Available for pre-order now, I think Liz and I need to – immediately – get our hands on this darling cookbook that describes how to scale down food into small, perfect party bites. Let’s be honest, this has Deux Maisons written all over it.
Happy inspired collecting!
