Between Liz’s sleek new kitchen, her freshly painted buffet along with breakfast table + chairs, and a co-blogger’s plane ticket direct to Dallas, there was very little holding this duo back from a little entertaining this past weekend. With a celebratory brunch on the calendar and plenty of time to plan, let’s just say it was difficult to keep this party trick a secret until now!

When Liz discovered a guest post by Camille Styles that included the idea to create your own blended butters, the Deux Maisons Butter Bar was born. By simply taking softened butter and your favorite jam, honey, or spread and pulsing them together in a food processor or with a hand mixer, you get the perfect brunch appetizer for your guests.
Assemble the butters in ramekins, small dessert dishes, or cocktail coupes for a little more (tabletop) drama and organize them on a tray and let your guests spread sweet and savory butters on your favorite breads and biscuits while mixing and mingling. You’ll have plenty of time to assemble the rest of your brunch while enjoying a relaxing cocktail with your guests. What’s even better? Freezing the leftovers for future gatherings.
unsalted butter, at room temperature
jams, honey, or spread of your choosing (we used blackberry preserves, orange marmalade, fig-pomegranate, and honey for our butters)
For every 1 stick of butter, blend 1/4 cup of your favorite jam, honey, or spread. Pulse in food processor or beat with a hand mixer. Serve in small serving dishes or ramekins.
Freeze leftovers for future soirees!
